Nothing makes me happier than when people tell me that this is the best cupcake that they have ever tasted! I’m always at the happiest joyful mood when I bake and it reflects in my baking. My love for baking began at a very young age. I grew up in a multi-cultural background in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where festivals were celebrated with delicious home-baked goodies. As a little girl, I loved helping my mother and elder sisters while they baked cookies and cakes, always using less sugar but maintaining lots of flavour. My family taught me to bake simple yet delicious buttercakes and cookies.
I soon started baking mouth-watering delicacies for family and friends. I used fresh fruit in cake frostings instead of artificial colouring, and decorated the cakes with fruit instead of colourful sprinkles.
My passion for baking eventually lead me to follow my dreams to start baking flavourful cupcakes with less sugar for friends’ parties. Soon, a small, word-of-mouth cupcake catering business emerged and quickly became quite popular among friends and acquaintances. Now I’m enjoying my baking hobby as a career being a founder and head baker for Cupcakes by Kasthuri.
